Fair Isle Fisherman’s Kep update and KAL

I have wanted to knit one of these for so long. Now is the time to get to it before it gets to cold and just in time for winter. Below is the first landscape picture I found to pull colors from and a few of my knitting friends Kep’s that I love for inspiration. I do want a little more color, but you have to admit you would stay cozy in style.

Now I know I am always asking you guys to share your ideas and I hope someday I’ll get comments (not just spam). Here is what I would love to see, you pictures of most anything the show color choices you would like a kep knitted in. You see it’s time to go outside my comfort zone when knitting. Not everyone loves the same colors or style of knitting and I would like to see yours.

Here are the colors  pulled out of my stash. I always take a picture in color and one in grey scale. I would have guess the light lavender was a in the light side, but I would have been wrong. It’s always good to check. Finally one other landscape to pick colors from. I think I have enough to make 2 hats with the colors I choose.

Join in the KAL here. Finish a fair isle hat or kep by November 30th, post you pictures and have a chance in the random drawing. Instagram pictures using #showmeyourcolorsKephats.

    Hi Cricket!
I want to knit a Kep! How often does the museum publish patterns? I did join on FB but haven’t seen when they offer the pattern. Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you.

      Hello Lulynn,
I think they have the printer repaired and are getting ready to sell more patterns. They have also been talking about selling them as a PDF that you can print out. You can ask Elena Mera-Long she would be the one in the FB group telling everyone when you can purchase a pattern. Also if you belong to Ravelry check for the pattern there, that might be where they offer it as a download. Hope you get one soon and please do come knit with me.
